1. Define electric charge.

Electric charge is a fundamental property of matter responsible for electric interaction.

2. State Coulomb’s law.

The force between two point charges is directly proportional to the product of charges and inversely proportional to the square of distance between them.

3. What is meant by quantisation of charge?

Charge exists in discrete multiples of elementary charge: q = ne.

4. State the principle of conservation of charge.

Total charge of an isolated system remains constant.

5. Is electric charge dependent on reference frame?

No, electric charge is invariant in all reference frames.

6. Two charges of +2 μC and +3 μC are separated by 30 cm. Find the electrostatic force between them.

F = 6 N (repulsive)

7. Two charges of +4 μC and −2 μC are placed 50 cm apart. Calculate the force between them.

F = 0.288 N (attractive)

8. By what factor will force change if distance between two charges is halved?

Force becomes four times.

9. Find the number of electrons corresponding to a charge of −3.2 × 10⁻¹⁹ C.

Number of electrons = 2

10. Two identical charges repel each other with force 5 N. What will be the force if both charges are doubled?

Force becomes 20 N.

11. Calculate the force between two charges of 1 μC each placed 1 m apart in vacuum.

F = 9 × 10⁻³ N

12. What will be the force between two charges if dielectric constant of medium is 5 and force in air is 10 N?

F = 2 N

13. Distance between two charges is increased to three times. Find the new force if original force was 12 N.

F = 4/3 N

14. How much charge is transferred by a current of 2 A flowing for 10 seconds?

Q = 20 C

15. Find the force between +q and −q charges separated by distance r.

F = (1 / 4πϵ₀) · (q² / r²), attractive
